Many orienteer volunteers plus staff and parents pitched in to help run the event, organised annually, on the second Friday in August, by OV's Peta Whitford.

The Schools event caters for both Primary and Secondary riders and will be held at Woodlands Park near Melbourne airport next year.
Orienteering Victoria runs a series of MTB orienteering events from April to October, and during daylight saving months there is a series of twilight events close to Melbourne which are a good introduction to the sport.
