Silva DuO #1 at Ballarat

A good sized contingent of Bayside Kangaroos members attended the first DuO event held on Sunday 27 January using the "Sparrow Ground" and "Canadian North" maps at Ballarat. The race format was run/ride/run with competitors in solo, pairs and relay or ride-only categories. The race began in a heavy mist, which ensured wet feet for all and a scramble for map bags, but finished in bright sunshine.

In the long race, Angus Robinson was 1st in Juniors and 4th overall, Tim Hatley was 1st in Senior Men, Scott Gavens 5th in Open Men, Kate Gavens 3rd in Open Female and Anne and Geoff Robinson were 2nd in the relay. Interestingly, Geoff's quick ride leg would have earnt him 1st in the ride-only if he had been in that category. Andrew Rowan won the ride-only and Heather Leslie was 3rd.

In the short race, Bruce Paterson was 1st overall, with John Gavans 3rd and Greg Tamblyn 4th, while Carolyn and Peter Cusworth took out the pairs. Suzanne O'Callaghan was 1st in the ride-only.

The sponsors Silva and Bikecorp provided some nice prizes for the winners.

Success at Australian MTBO Championships Monday, 5 December 2011 BK Junior, Angus Robinson, took out first place in M16 in the Sprint and Long Distance Australian Championship MTBO events
MTBO Schools Championship success Monday, 29 August 2011 Junior member, Angus Robinson, (Mowbray College) won the senior boys solo division at the annual Victorian Schools Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships held on 12 August at Woodlands State Park.
Lysterfield MTBO - summer series 2010 Tuesday, 19 January 2010 Nearly 80 people turned up on 16 January 2010 to enjoy the trails and trials of the Summer MTBO at Lysterfield.
MTBO State titles at Chiltern Friday, 6 November 2009 Among the 13 BK members who attended the excellent event conducted by the Albury Wodonga Orienteering Club, BK members collected 4 State titles.
