In a field of 25 riders Angus (16) was first home in a time of 1 hr 11 minutes, having collected all 25 controls (ranging in value from 10 to 50 points) for a maximum points total of 550. Only 9 riders of the 188 entered collected maximum points in the allotted 2 hours. Angus rode very strongly in the comfortable overcast conditions, with his route choice helping him to hold off his closest rival.

It was great to see how much the the students enjoyed the day, especially the many pairs of riders in both seniors (Yrs 10-12) and juniors (Yrs 7-9). Thanks to Peta Whitford, Peter Cusworth and Blake Gordon as well as many orienteering club members who helped make the day run smoothly for all the students.
