Bayside Boys Selected in State Schools Team
Thursday, 11 August 2011
After solid performances in the final selection trial on Sunday
7th August, three junior members of Bayside Kangaroos have been selected in the
Secondary Schools State team to compete at the Oceania Carnival and Australian
Schools Championships to be held from 1-9 October 2011. The trial was held in
cool cloudy conditions at Mt Tarrengower, Maldon, in Central
Victoria. Around 24 girls and boys competed for the spots on the
state team, with competition particularly keen amongst the junior group aged 15
and under. The map was a good one with a lot of granite, and testing but fair
courses were set by James Robertson, a school team member from recent years,
with assistance from Jim Russell. The team will travel together and stay with teams from other states in
Ovens, Wagga Wagga and Cooma during the carnival.
(L to R) Angus Robinson - Senior Boys, Nicholas Collins - Junior Boys
and Peter Collins - Junior Boys.
